A 360º artist. A universal creator who moves between murals, installed pieces, and sculpture. Santiago Morilla (Madrid, 1973) is a graphic artist that expresses himself through different formats. He is one of those young artists that works big, documenting their processes and bring it to the public all ready for consumption so that art can be visual and direct with people, because that’s what this world is all about.

He has exhibited in the Feria Internacional MACRO ‘The Road to Contemporary Art’ (2010), as well as in Galería CO2 (Roma) and in José Robles, Fernando Pradilla, and Twin Gallery (Madrid). In 2011 he was one of the first young artists to whom the ABC museum of illustration (Madrid) dedicated an individual exhibition.

He is also known for his aspect as an urban artist, working on the outsides of building such as the Fondazione Pastificio Cerere in Roma, the rooftop of the Real Academia de España in Roma and even on the Ses Artigues de Alaró reservoir (Palma de Mallorca). In Seoul, in 2011, he worked on several rooftops, then creating one of his most famous series, ‘Waterbeacons’.

He is a graduate in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid and studied at the University of Art and Design of Helsinki (Finland). Rurality, nature which interweaves with itself and from there to the conscience and the human being, surreal creatures of science fiction, the struggle with egos and the packing of one person over another in both real and oneiric life are his recurring themes. He forms part of a unique generation, based in Madrid, together with names such as Eugenio Merino, Julio Falagan, and Juan Francisco Casas, who represent Spanish contemporary art at the beginning of the 21st century.
