Influenced by rural life, melodic music and folklore from his homeland, Norfolk, in the south east of England, Marcus Oakley walks between abstraction, pop and child illusionism and geometry. "The light of the countryside where humans and beasts coexist, design… the tea, bike rides", adds the artist who now resides in Edinburgh (Scotland). He graduated in Art and Graphic Design at Camberwell College of Art in London.

His work, one of the most reviewed in recent years in the Anglo-Saxon market, has been exhibited in galleries in Amsterdam, New York or London. Closely associated with the textile industry, he worked for years as a graphic designer for Paul Smith until he focused on the art world. He has published in magazines such as Anorak magazine, Rats 3, So Young Magazine, Brainstrom Zine or The Plant magazine.

Like many of Gunter Gallery's artists, he is a music lover, in fact, with his band, The Sunflower Band, closes the circle of the 21st century's total artist.
